Bengal HS Council Bars Schools from Exempting Teachers from Answer Script Evaluation

The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has issued a directive stating that schools cannot exempt teachers from the responsibility of evaluating answer scripts for the Higher Secondary (HS) board examinations.

According to the council, teachers who are assigned evaluation duties must take part in the answer script checking process. Schools are not permitted to request exemptions for teachers unless there are exceptional circumstances and approval is granted by the council.

The decision has been taken to ensure that the evaluation process remains smooth, transparent, and timely during the board examination cycle. Authorities believe that allowing exemptions could slow down the evaluation work and delay the declaration of results.

The council has also directed educational institutions to strictly follow the guidelines issued for the examination evaluation process. Officials emphasized that cooperation from teachers and schools is essential to maintain the efficiency and credibility of the board examination system.
