Delhi University will introduce a new elective paper titled ‘Linguistic Anthropology’ for master’s students to explore the relationship between language, culture and society.
Delhi University has announced the introduction of a new elective paper titled ‘Linguistic Anthropology’ for master’s level students. The new course aims to provide deeper insights into the relationship between language, culture and social interaction.
According to the university, the elective will help students understand how language shapes cultural identity and social structures in different communities. The course will focus on the role of language in communication, traditions, power structures and social relationships.
The introduction of this paper is part of Delhi University’s effort to expand interdisciplinary learning and modernise the postgraduate curriculum. The course is expected to benefit students who are interested in fields such as anthropology, linguistics, sociology and cultural studies.
Experts believe that the study of linguistic anthropology will help students better understand how languages evolve and influence human behaviour and cultural practices.
The new elective will be available for postgraduate students and is expected to be introduced through the university’s updated academic curriculum.
This initiative reflects Delhi University’s continued efforts to strengthen academic programmes and offer students new opportunities for specialised learning in emerging interdisciplinary areas.
