‘Mother read books aloud, written down notes for me’: How visually challenged Ravi Raaz cracked UPSC CSE 2025

Ravi Raaz’s journey to securing All India Rank 20 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025 has inspired many aspirants across the country.

Despite being visually challenged, Ravi Raaz successfully cleared one of India’s toughest examinations through dedication, persistence and strong family support. His success came after years of preparation and consistent effort.

A major source of support during his preparation was his mother, Vibha Sinha, who played an important role in helping him study. She regularly read books aloud and wrote down notes for him so that he could continue his preparation without interruption.

Coming from a modest background, Ravi’s father is a farmer and his family remained committed to supporting his educational journey. Their encouragement and sacrifices helped him stay focused on his goal.
