Over 93,000 posts vacant in CAPFs and Assam Rifles, govt tells Rajya Sabha

The Government of India has informed the Rajya Sabha that more than 93,000 posts are currently vacant in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Assam Rifles.

According to official data presented in Parliament, these vacancies exist across various ranks in different CAPF units including the CRPF, BSF, CISF, ITBP and SSB, along with the Assam Rifles.

Officials stated that recruitment drives are conducted regularly to fill the vacant positions. The government also highlighted that multiple recruitment examinations are organized every year through agencies such as the Staff Selection Commission (SSC).

The vacancies are being addressed through ongoing recruitment processes, including the SSC Constable (GD) recruitment examination and other selection procedures.

Authorities noted that filling these positions remains a priority in order to strengthen the operational capacity of the security forces across the country.
